    Armanino’s Consulting Group now offers outsourced Human Resources Services!  We are currently looking for motivated, hard-working professionals to add to our HR Solutions group as we continue to grow. This role is a professional, full-time Payroll Consultant position. This job is different because instead of providing Payroll for one company, you’ll be working with a team of fellow Consultants to provide on-going support and solutions for a portfolio of Armanino clients! This is a new group at Armanino, and we’re excited to grow our team!



    • Perform client activities including processing payroll, multi-state payroll and registrations, payroll tax filings and client support.
    • Develop and maintain the HR Solutions group’s principles, practices, and procedures to ensure accurate and timely client support for Payroll functions.
    • Support extensive client base with all facets of Payroll management. Perform Payroll support work under tight deadlines, including a multitude of activities such as payroll processing, employee on-boarding, employee terminations, and policy administration.
    • Deliver exceptional service on time and on budget.
    • Develop and maintain good working relationship with senior-level executives and decision makers within each client organization, and routinely communicate with them on projects relating to Payroll support, issues and deliverables.
    • Position may or may not include supervisory duties for HR Solutions staff. Actively engage as needed regarding Performance Coaching for department staff
    • Participate and support new and existing project initiatives from the consulting office or at client sites. Periodic or regular travel to client sites may be required.
    • Identify and escalate issues to management for resolution.
    • Goal of 75% billable hours of total hours worked.
    • Enter data and maintain files and records. Prepare all necessary reports.
    • Handle correspondence involving HR Solutions clients. Assist in resolution of HR Solutions issues as needed.
    • Prepare documents and maintain appropriate records.
    • Maintain historical records for all payroll transactions.
    • Assist with periodic audits of Personnel and Payroll documents.
    • Systematically verify and audit data for completeness and accuracy according to established controls.
    • Participate in training and instruction as directed.
    • Demonstrate the ability to achieve more complex work in a particular field/industry.
    • Identify and implement multiple functional innovations.
    • Achieve a broad understanding of client industry-specific support needs.
    • Deep understanding of Armanino service delivery methodology.
    • Translate engagement objectives into detailed plans and budgets.
    • Perform moderately complex work.
    • Ensure the work of staff is in line with Armanino methods and quality standards.
    • Be proactive and anticipate client issues.
    • Independently manage multiple and complex client engagements.
    • Proactively maintain awareness of full range of Armanino Consulting services.
    • Work with managers to identify, scope and estimate and help close additional projects at existing clients.
    • Develop good working relationships with more senior client personnel.
    • Attend industry, functional, and other networking events.
    • Begin to identify opportunities at existing clients and surface to engagement leadership.
    • Generate ideas to maximize engagement profitability.
    • Support scoping, pricing and change order preparation.
    • Lead on-board of new clients with Managers.
    • Responsible for developing and mentoring staff daily.
    • Be a resource on a client engagement.
    • Give direction and set priorities.
    • Stay abreast of new developments, standards, trends, etc. in your area of focus.
    • Pursue and maintain professional certification (if applicable).
    • Review work of staff level and senior level I and II level on multiple engagements.
    • Supervise staff level and senior level I and II level on multiple engagements.
    • Ensure engagement managers are aware of budget over-runs.
    • Work with managers to prepare out of scope billings.
    • Perform all tasks as assigned by the supervisor.



    • Undergraduate Degree in a Payroll-related field, Business Consulting or related field or equivalent experience required.
    • 5+ years of experience in all facets of Payroll.
    • CPP certification (or other relevant professional certification) preferred.
    • Ability to set priorities and with excellent time management skills; enjoy working independently with clear deadlines and deliverables.
    • Experience and proficiency in various industry-related software, including Payroll Processing programs, benefits portals, and others as needed also required.
    • Ability to make accurate arithmetic calculations.
    • Ability to maintain complex and automated records in an orderly and accurate manner.
    • Ability to deal with vendors and clients in an efficient and professional manner.
    • Communication skills – ability to express ideas clearly and concisely, in writing and verbally.
    • Ability to generate specialized computer reports.
    • Ability to work accurately and quickly under operational deadlines.
    • Strong analytical and technical skills.
    • Excellent time management skills.
    • Enjoy working independently or in a team environment with clear deadlines and deliverables.
    • Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
